THRF Group is pleased to invite Expressions of Interest from SA-based health and medical researchers for this 2026 Competitive Research Project Grant Round which has the overall objective to improve health outcomes and quality of life for those affected by neurodegenerative conditions through evidence-based advances in diagnosis or treatment.
For this round, THRF Group invites proposals that aim to develop and test new or improved diagnostic and/or treatment approaches for neurodegenerative conditions, such as (but not limited to) dementia, Parkinson’s, motor neurone disease, and multiple sclerosis. THRF Group particularly welcomes proposals leveraging digitally enabled “precision medicine” technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence).
Proposals must be led by an early-to-mid-career researcher and may request funding of up to $250,000 total for a maximum of two years.
Proposals must not duplicate or substantially overlap with existing projects or pending proposals. Please refer to the Guidelines for more details.
Expressions of Interest will only be accepted via SmartyGrants and must be submitted by the deadline of 4:00pm (ACDT) Wednesday 28th January 2026.
