Planned Competitive Funding Opportunities for 2026

The following competitive grant rounds are anticipated to open in 2026. Round timing is indicative only and all details are subject to change.

Available in Western Australia and South Australia

SA & WA Collaboration Catalyst Research Grants (anticipated to open in Q3)
Funding for development of (or reinvigorate lapsed) collaborations between WA and SA research institutions, with the key goal of generating a collaborative grant submission(s) for further funding of national-scale.
Funding guide: up to $150,000 per project of up to 24 months duration.

Available in South Australia

Precision Medicine Research – Cancer (anticipated to open in Q3)
Support for innovative research projects for precision medicine approaches that advance the treatment of cancer.
Funding guide: up to $250,000 per project of up to 24 months duration.

Partnership Grant Rounds
The following funding opportunities supported by THRFG are anticipated to be made available via our South Australian partners in 2026.

  • Allied and Scientific Health Office and THRFG Allied and Scientific Health Innovative Model of Care Research Grants (NOW OPEN)
    Funding guide: Up to $30,000 per project of up to 12 months’ duration
    Further details on specific timing and criteria are provided on the ASHO website
  • Northern Adelaide Local Health Network Project Grant round (CLOSED)
    Funding guide: Up to $100,000 for one project of up to 12 months’ duration
    Further details on specific timing and criteria will be provided on Current Opportunities when available
  • Northern Adelaide Local Health Network Divisional and Directorate Research Grants round (anticipated to open in Q2)
    Funding guide: Up to $20,000 per project of up to 12 months’ duration

  • Southern Adelaide Local Health Network Enquiry Grant Round (Now OPEN – closing Friday 7th August 2026)
    Funding guide: up to $25,000 for Innovation Grants and up to $80,000 for Research Grants
