The 2025 Innovative Research in Precision Medicine program is supported by the Co-Funding Partnerships Program (Co-FPP) of the Future Health Research and Innovation (FHRI) Fund in partnership with The Hospital Research Foundation Group who is administering the round.
The program is intended to support innovative research projects, led by early-to-mid-career health and medical researchers from Eligible Administering Institutions in Western Australia, that seek to advance the treatment of the following disease groups using precision medicine approaches:
- cancer
- mental health conditions
- musculoskeletal conditions (e.g. rheumatic / inflammatory)
- cardiovascular
- neurodegenerative conditions (including dementia)
The highest ranked applications will be awarded support of up to $125,000 over a maximum of two years (Tier 1) for personnel and direct research costs. Applications that are highly ranked but are not awarded funding at Tier 1 will receive seed funding of $25,000 (Tier 2) to progress their concept over the next 12 months. Funding will be awarded through a staged competitive, application-based process.
Expressions of Interest will only be accepted via SmartyGrants and must be submitted by the deadline of 4:00pm (AWST) Wednesday 29 October 2025.
