This research focuses on detection, management and treatment of breast cancer to help minimise the impact on Australian families. The research is both clinical and lab based with all donations going straight to breast cancer research.

With one Australian dying from heart disease every 12 minutes, we are focused on delivering disease prevention strategies, improving diagnostics, treatments and hospital care to patients around Australia.

Australian Prostate Cancer (APC) is a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation Group. Australian Prostate Cancer was established to help fund vital medical research into the detection and treatment of prostate cancer, as well as preventing the metastatic spread of the disease.

Prostate cancer is the most common form of internal cancer in Australia with 1 in 4 men at risk of developing prostate cancer in their lifetime. Prostate cancer also claims more men’s lives in this country than breast cancer does in women every year.

Kidney, Transplant & Diabetes Research Australia (KTDRA) is a partner charity of The Hospital Research Foundation Group. It supports ground-breaking medical research into some of the most chronic diseases in Australia and around the world.

By supporting clinical and laboratory research, KTDRA plays a lead role in increasing awareness as well as development and delivery of effective therapies and better care for patients with kidney disease, diabetes and those needing a transplant.

Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA), previously The Road Home has been a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation Group since 2015. MESHA is a collaborative research institute dedicated to shaping and improving policy, programs and services for current and former members of the Australian military and emergency service personnel and their families.

MESHA focuses on the delivery of high quality and translational research outcomes that have an   immediate and long-term impact on the mental health and wellbeing of Australia’s current and former military as well as frontline workers and their families.

The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group – Stroke was recently launched encompassing both Cure for Stroke Australia (CFSA) and Stroke SA. The charity is focused on improving stroke health outcomes and supporting world-class stroke research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment across Australia.

Since the successful merger of The Hospital Research Foundation Group and the Laurel Palliative Care Foundation in 2020, the organisation has been able to deliver even more community support through the expansion of services and investment of millions into vital research.

THRFG – Palliative Care strives to increase palliative care services across South Australian public hospitals to maximise impact and raise awareness about this essential area of patient care.

Parkinson’s South Australia and Northern Territory (PSANT) joined THRF Group in July 2020, providing support and services to people living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders as well as their carers, family, community and health professionals.

THRFG – Parkinson’s represents and supports the 8,000 people living with Parkinson’s and their family members. A continuum of support is provided from diagnosis and throughout the progression of the disease.

The passionate team is focused on enhancing choice, independence and wellbeing for people living with Parkinson’s. They are also committed to improving vital support services in regional and remote areas and expanding research capabilities to help stop, slow, reverse and eventually cure Parkinson’s. Arthritis SA joined THRF Group in March 2023, to enhance support services and progress vital medical research to improve the quality of life of people living with Arthritis and related conditions.

Now operating as The Hospital Research Foundation Group – Arthritis, we provide services to the one in four South Australians with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis, gout, autoimmune arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia and many others.

Our services cover the areas of advocacy, support, education, and research to find a cure or better treatment of arthritis.
