We are also committed to easing the burden for country patients when they travel to Adelaide to access treatments through our Under Our Roof program, which offers accommodation for country cancer patients and their families.
Country Health Support
Under Our Roof provides family-style accommodation for country cancer patients and their support networks to stay in while receiving treatment at hospitals in Adelaide.
Four homes are available as part of the program, all with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and lovely living spaces to relax during such a challenging time.
A detailed, educational video has been created for regional clinicians and SA Ambulance officers to better identify the symptoms of stroke, as getting treatment quickly is a critical factor in the survival and recovery from stroke.
The video has been tailored to meet the unique needs of regional clinicians and was informed by neurology and stroke experts from SA Health’s SA Telestroke service, which provides virtual 24-7 stroke advice and support across all regional South Australian hospitals and to patients and clinicians.

Providing training to rural and remote doctors and midwives as part of our ‘Healthy Newborn Project’ so they can administer ultrasounds on pregnant mothers and babies in regional communities.
