Partnership with leading SA ageing care provider ECH
Enabling South Australians to live confidently and have the best possible life as they age is at the core of an exciting new partnership between leading South Australian ageing care provider ECH (Enabling Confidence at Home) and The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group.
THRF Group will become the official philanthropic partner for ECH, with the organisations working together to raise vital funds for trialling new and innovative technologies, piloting innovative models of care and investing in research projects that will translate into better quality of life and care.
THRF Group CEO Paul Flynn said the partnership represented an alignment in organisational values between two growing and impact-focused South Australian organisations.
“As a profit-for-purpose organisation that is fighting for every South Australian, we’ve always had a strong interest in enabling people to live to the fullest, no matter what stage of life they’re at,” Mr Flynn said.
“We applaud ECH for their progressive mindset and the development of a wellbeing model, integrating community care, health and wellbeing services, short-stay accommodation and serviced apartments into their new Care Hotel at College Grove, Walkerville.”
“This will be the initial focus for our philanthropic partnership as we raise funds for research aimed at evaluating this world-first service delivering high-quality care to South Australians. We believe this will be a game-changer for the broader landscape of aged care in Australia and make an incredible long-term impact on the community.”
ECH Chief Executive Dr David Panter said ECH is proud to announce the new partnership with The Hospital Research Foundation Group.
“ECH is thrilled to be working closely with a major not-for-profit South Australian organisation that is passionate about providing better health and wellbeing outcomes for all South Australians,” Dr Panter said.
“The partnership will enable us to achieve the aspirational goals we have for our ECH Care Hotel at College Grove. Through our innovative model of care, which provides flexibility in the way services are provided, we can help and re-enable older South Australians adapt so that they can return to live in their own home and community.”
ECH is one of the largest South Australian not-for-profit providers of integrated retirement living accommodation and aged care services with all profits being reinvested to increase and improve the services provided.

ECH divested out of Residential Care Homes in 2014.
The purpose of this was to ensure that ECH could continue to invest and focus resources on supporting older people to remain living confidently and independently in their own homes for longer.
