Military & Emergency Services Health Australia’s 14th Annual Remembrance Day Breakfast 2021

MESHA Remembrance Day Breakfast 2021

On Thursday 11 November 2021, Military & Emergency Services Health Australia held its 14th Annual Remembrance Day Breakfast.

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of our Nation’s veterans and service personnel, both past and present. As we continue to navigate our new and sometimes difficult circumstances, we were pleased to welcome over 450 guests to this sold-out event to celebrate the continued strength and bravery of our heroes.

We were pleased to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson, Governor of South Australia and the Honourable Steven Marshall MP, Premier of South Australia.

We were grateful to have had the opportunity to share an update on our world-class research and programs to support veterans, first responders and their families.

The unwavering commitment of our military and emergency services personnel is invaluable to all communities in Australia. We are forever grateful for the extraordinary sacrifices made by our armed forces, and we are proud to support research and programs to improve their health and wellbeing, both during and after their service.

Guests heard from our keynote speaker, Ross Coulthart, who shared the story of his riveting detective hunt across northern France, which led to the discovery of thousands of photographic glass plates. The images of many brave soldiers who passed through Vignacourt helped to paint a detailed picture of the Aussie diggers’ time in France. This collection of images is an incredibly special record which reflects the service and sacrifice of Australian soldiers, and their discovery is regarded as one of the most important First World War findings ever made.

The theme of the breakfast was Perspectives of Service, and we were honoured to share the stories of several veterans and their service experience.
