A strong sense of community is deeply ingrained in the culture at financial services firm Shaw and Partners. They have incredibly donated over $10 million to a wide range of causes over the past decade.
Through their own Foundation, employees are encouraged to support charities they care about, with the company matching fundraising efforts to increase impact.
This spirit of giving is evident across all offices, including Adelaide. Senior Investment Adviser Jed Richards recently made a deeply personal contribution.
Jed was especially inspired to give back after learning of close friend and Adelaide media personality Ali Clarke’s breast cancer diagnosis in July 2024.
In a heartfelt show of support, he donated $10,000 and invited Ali to select the beneficiary of the funds.
Ali chose Cancer Research SA (CRSA), which is run by a group of Adelaide-based oncologists. Through their own clinical practices, they manage a state-of-the-art research and treatment centre for patients to access cancer trials in SA.
The team work alongside specialist cancer surgeons, radiation oncologists and all major medical specialties. This ensures each patient’s care is optimised, individualised, and of the highest standard.

The donation, proudly facilitated through The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group, will support CRSA’s work in ensuring high standard clinical trials are available to patients as quickly as possible.
“Our organisation prides itself on giving back to the community,” Jed explained.
“When I heard about Ali’s diagnosis, I wanted this to be my way of supporting her.”
THRF Group is proud to have facilitated this generous donation. We hope it will provide even more lifesaving treatments to breast cancer patients.
