Expressions of Interest are now closed.

The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group was pleased to invite Expressions of Interest (EoI) for its 2022 Targeted Grant Round focused on Advancing Diagnosis or Treatment of Child and Adolescent Rheumatic Diseases.

The round was available for SA-based health and medical researchers, with funding of up to $125,000 (total) for a maximum of two years.

THRF Group was seeking innovative proposals that advance the diagnosis and/or treatment of child and adolescent rheumatic diseases in one or more of the following three focus areas:

  • more accurate and/or timely diagnostic tests;
  • advancement of novel treatments; or
  • healthcare service innovations expediting diagnosis and/or treatment.

Proposals must pertain specifically to rheumatic diseases of children or adolescents, or rheumatic diseases for which those cohorts are demonstrably over-represented, such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, juvenile dermatomyositis, juvenile sclerodermas, or systemic lupus erythematosus.

Proposals will also be expected to articulate credible, near-term pathway/s for the translation of the project outcomes into positive impacts for younger Australians affected by rheumatic disease.

With the potential for innovation arising from the cross-fertilisation of ideas and approaches from different fields (e.g. technology disciplines such as engineering, computer science etc.), we particularly encourage applications from transdisciplinary teams. The inclusion of early career researchers as part of project teams is also encouraged.

Expressions of Interest were due by 4:00pm (ACST) Wednesday 14th September 2022.

The following document/templates were required for EoI preparation and submission:
