Expressions of Interest now open

The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group is pleased to invite Expressions of Interest (EoI) from SA-based health and medical researchers for its 2023 Competitive Project Grant Round focused on Innovations in Ageing Well.

In this round, THRF Group seeks innovative research proposals which address one or more of the following objectives for older South Australians: 

• Sustainably enhancing health and wellbeing
• Staying independent, well and active in the community for longer

• Avoiding or reducing the need for hospital admissions. 

In addressing the round objectives, research proposals must seek to develop and evaluate innovative approaches which align with one of the following Priority Areas: 

• Priority Area 1: Innovations in primary preventive health and wellbeing approaches for older South Australians 
• Priority Area 2: Innovations in the provision of accessible, community-based healthcare services for older South Australians 

All proposals are expected to describe pathways whereby the anticipated outcomes from the research could be sustainably implemented to deliver beneficial health and wellbeing impacts for older South Australians, as well as the community more broadly.  

THRF Group encourages the combination of suitably experienced research and clinical personnel in the project team, transdisciplinary teams combining ideas and approaches from different fields, and the inclusion of early career researchers. Effective and meaningful consumer participation and engagement is also highly encouraged. 

Proposals may request funding of up to either $250,000 (Tier A) or $125,000 (Tier B) total for a maximum of two years. We anticipate funding more Tier B than Tier A projects. 

We are seeking to fund projects which do not duplicate or substantially overlap with existing projects or pending proposals. Please refer to the Guidelines for more details. 

Expressions of Interest will only be accepted via SmartyGrants and must be submitted by the deadline of 4:00pm (ACDT) Wednesday 29th March 2023.
