We say goodbye to one of our long-serving and much-loved art therapists, Jane Smeets who has worked within SAPS at both Daw House and Laurel Hospice.
She is an Arts Psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience in the field and an accomplished artist. Jane’s leadership and clinical philosophy is to serve, which she has delivered through strong relationships, continuous improvement and kindness.
Jane has also been passionate around patient and family engagement which has been most evident through the hundreds of hours she has spent investing in patients and best outcomes for all. In addition, Jane has been instrumental in developing and facilitating improved grief and loss literacy, through the LEAF Project to school students statewide.
We wish Jane all the very best with her continuing work as a talented artist, and her next adventures in life!
“Hospice is a philosophy of care that values life from the moment it begins to the moment it ends.”
