Adelaide 36ers join the fight for better health and wellbeing
Two of South Australia’s iconic community organisations – the Adelaide 36ers and The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group are excited to be joining forces for the 2021/22 NBL season with the aim of scoring goals in the health, wellbeing and health literacy of all South Australians.
As part of the partnership, players will be helping spread the word about healthy living and prioritising physical and mental wellbeing.
As part of a series of recent off-court announcements for the 36ers, this latest charity partnership aligns with 36ers’ focus on grassroots and instilling a community-minded culture.
“The Hospital Research Foundation Group has a proud 60-year history in South Australia and is committed to fighting for the health of every South Australian through world-leading medical research and improved patient care,” Adelaide 36ers CEO Nic Barbato said.
“The Foundation’s ‘Together.Fight.’ campaign encourages people to band together to help in the fight against disease and illness. Teamwork makes getting the job done a lot easier – and that is something our playing group strives for every day.
“We are proud to be partnering with such a respected organisation which delivers real impact for all South Australians.”
The 36ers will proudly wear The Hospital Research Foundation Group’s logo on their guernseys as part of the partnership and deliver health and wellbeing messaging, fundraising and community awareness goals.
Paul Flynn, CEO of The Hospital Research Foundation Group, said it was fantastic to unite with the state’s preeminent basketball team that has had a proud history of success both on and off the court.
“The 36ers’ exceptional game-day experience and community programs bring families and friends together, all united on a common goal, and that is something we are keen to see used to deliver a great health and wellbeing narrative,” Paul said.
“Sport plays a pivotal role in uniting people from all walks of life and the synergies this has with our mission makes the Adelaide 36ers the perfect partner to drive positive health messages and awareness.”
